Singer, songwriter, arranger, producer ~ D'Simone is an artist with an impressive list of talents and an infectious sound that leaves listeners wanting to hear more. With strong melodies and meaningful lyrics, his music takes you on an incredible journey that explores the ups and downs of life and the emotions we all struggle to make sense of.
As the son of veteran music arranger/producer, Charles Calello, whose achievements include 100 Billboard chart records, D'Simone was introduced to the world of music at an early age and spent much of his youth in New York recording studios. After high school he attended Berklee, formed a band that quickly earned a coveted spot on Boston's "Top 10 Live Bands" list, and started making records in studios he designed and built himself.
Eventually, his path led him back to New York City, where he currently lives, records and plays. In 2010 D'Simone released two singles, Sleepwalking and Desert Rain, which were both co-‐produced by Charles Calello, and will be featured on his debut studio album due out Spring 2011.
In late 2010, while searching for musicians to form a band, he met and began working with bassist Enzo Penizzotto.
Bio: Enzo
When he was 14 years old, New York native Enzo Penizzotto picked up a bass guitar and knew he had found his calling. By the time he was 19, he formed the rock band Speed McQueen, which caught the attention of Mercury Polygram and landed them a record deal.
For the next several years they toured the U.S. and recorded four albums, one live at CBGB, working with engineer/producers Ed Stasium (The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Smithereens) and Tim Patalan (Sponge).
In 2000, Enzo met Joan Jett and later joined the Blackhearts, touring with them throughout the world and playing on the Sinner and Greatest Hits albums.
In October of 2010, Enzo met indie singer/songwriter D'Simone, and the two hit it off immediately. They are currently working on musical endeavors together in New York City.
